Deep down we all long to be accepted. We typically look for that acceptance from other people rather then the One who has already accepted us.
From time to time we take our eyes off Jesus and place them on others. This creates insecurities in us just as it did with King in 1 Samuel 18. God says to us “you do you & keep your eyes on me”.
As we see in the beginning of the book of Exodus even Moses withdrew because of insecurities in some situations. He turned his face away from the Lord when he should have longed to sit with God, face to face as one sits with a friend.
Moses’ insecurities almost made him miss God’s calling because they made him say “I am so…” God wants us to know that when we say “I am so weak” He says “I am so strong”.
